M.Video-Eldorado: in 2022, Apple and Samsung lost their first places in the top sales

According to the company, 24 million smartphones were sold in 2022, with more than 65 percent coming from Chinese manufacturers. In 2021, the share of Chinese brands was 50 percent. As a result, Samsung lost its lead in unit terms for the first time in ten years and Xiaomi became the most popular smartphone manufacturer in 2022. Apple is only in fourth place in the ranking.
In addition, M.Video-Eldorado listed the main features of smartphones in 2022. 95 percent of the devices had biometric sensors like fingerprint scanners, and 73 percent had a battery over 5,000 milliamp hours. Among all devices sold in 2022, 70 percent of them had an NFC chip for data transfer and contactless payment, and only 20 percent of devices supported 5G networks. The average screen diagonal has increased from 5.8 to 6.2 inches.
At the end of 2022, Xiaomi Redmi 9A and Redmi Note 10S became the most popular smartphones. In third place in the top is the iPhone 11 at 128 gigabytes. The top five also included Tecno Spark 8C and Xiaomi Redmi 9C.
