Bloomberg: The main feature of the A17 chip for the iPhone 15 will be energy efficiency

The next generation of Apple smartphones will have improved energy efficiency. It is reported by Bloomberg.

As it became known to insiders of the publication, the Taiwanese company TSMC, the main manufacturer of processors for Apple, has launched chips based on a three-nanometer process technology. Apparently, the new processors will be called A17 Bionic.

Experts also called the main feature of the new chips and smartphones. Apparently, the processors will be more energy efficient, which will allow the iPhone to work longer on a single battery charge.

In addition to A17, M3 chips will be created using a three-nanometer process technology – a new generation of ARM processors for Apple computers and tablets. According to TSMC, their new processors will be about 35 percent more energy efficient than previous generation chips.

Bloomberg also noted that Samsung, one of Apple’s main competitors, began production of 3nm chips in July. “The company aims to catch up with TSMC in the chip manufacturing industry and meet the growing demand for high-performance devices with lower power consumption,” the journalists emphasized.

Earlier it became known that Apple will transfer part of the production of premium iPhones from China to Vietnam. As it turned out, the corporation will transfer part of the orders for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max to Luxshare.
