Despite the growing popularity of rival content creation platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitch, YouTube is still king. It is the second most visited website on the Internet (after Google) and has 14.3 billion visits per month, more than Facebook and Wikipedia.
This is confirmed by the Cash Net Usa portal, which used data from Socialblade.com to isolate the YouTube channel in each country with the highest number of views of all time. “Then, we estimate your lifetime earnings by applying the midpoint of YouTube’s current average APM (pay per 1,000 views) to your view count,” they say in a statement sent out.
Furthermore, they point out that they excluded musicians (Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, etc.), YouTube channels run by media organizations (BBC, NBC, FOX, etc.) and YouTube channels that predominantly use short videos, “because that they distort the ability to generate income”.
694,000 hours of video are streamed on the platform every minute, which is impressive when you consider that Netflix users stream only 452,000 hours per minute and offer feature films at their users’ fingertips.
Since 2007, content creators have been able to earn an income from the platform and this has inspired other content creators who have used the platform for a living. “In 2019, a survey found that a third of kids between the ages of 8 and 12 aspired to be YouTubers when they grew up.” indicates the report.
To find out which YouTubers earn the most on the platform, CashNetUSA analyzed channels from each country. With almost every niche covered in every corner of the world, it is understandable why the platform has created some unexpected millionaires. But which YouTubers are at the top?
Take a look at the world map of the channels that earn the most money (also available by continent):

- In Ecuador the channel that has amassed the most money is MY LITTLE ACTORS of the category Comedy with an estimate of more than $6.7 millionwhile in the category Gaming is raptorgamerwith estimated earnings of more than $5.1 million.

- The Top 3 is made up of children’s channels: Cocomelon from the US, Like Nastya ($167.5 million) from Russia and The Children’s Kingdom (USD 102.2 million) from Argentina.
- The American YouTuber FGTeeV owns the Gaming channel that has earned the most money, with more than $47 million and more than 22 billion views.
- Three of the fifteen channels that generate the most money They are Spanish-speaking: Argentina (El Reino Infantil with USD 102 million), Mexico (Badabun with USD 39 million) and Spain (VEGETTA777 with USD 31 million).
With more than 136 billion views of its videos, the children’s channel cocomelon leads the way in YouTube earnings in North America, with a total of $282.8 million of the platform so far. Mexican entertainment giant Babadun ($39.3 million) and Canadian gamer VanossGaming ($31.3 million) have also made huge fortunes from their channels.
In South America

Three South American countries – Brazil, Argentina and Colombia – are among YouTube’s 25 largest markets for views, with 274 billion in Brazil alone. In 2016, the music video for the song Chantaje by Colombian singer Shakira became the fastest Spanish-language video to reach one billion views on the platform.
In Europe
Just over a quarter (27%) of YouTube’s global viewing figures are from European users, with the UK, Russia and Spain among its largest markets. “Our research shows that viewers here have a clear preference for gamers: 16 of the 45 countries on the continent have a top-grossing channel that specializes in gaming content. UK’s DanTDM ($39.8m) and Ireland’s Jacksepticeye ($32.5m) are the top earners among gaming channels,” the report says.
Gaming channels dominate, but Nastya tops the list. No one in Europe has won more than Russia’s Like Nastya. With more than 82 billion views, its children’s content has grossed $167.5 million since the channel was created in December 2016. It is owned by Anastasia Radzinskaya, a young woman from Krasnodar, southern Russia. She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at a young age and moved with her parents to the United States, where the channel became one of the fastest growing on the platform.
Around the world, YouTube’s growth shows no signs of slowing down, even in the face of generation-defining competitors like TikTok and Instagram. YouTube’s popularity among Gen-Z will give content giant Google long-term staying power over Facebook and Instagram. While natural competitor Twitch has gained huge popularity during the pandemic, YouTube’s broad appeal is the key to its superiority.
