Specialist Bogatyreva: when buying a used smartphone, you need to check it by IMEI
Often people prefer buying a used device to new smartphones. Specialist Elena Bogatyreva, in an interview with RT, spoke about important details when purchasing such a device.
First of all, Bogatyreva advised me to check the smartphone by IMEI. For example, every iPhone has a 15 digit ID. Usually it is registered in three places: on the SIM card tray or inside the tray on the smartphone body, on the box, and also in the “About this device” menu, the expert noted.
According to the specialist, it is important to check the letter with which the model designation begins: F – officially restored, N – the smartphone was changed under the service warranty replacement program, P – personalized with engraving. If the letter M is at the beginning, and the seller says that the device was restored, this is an uncertified repair.

Bogatyryova recalled that the seller can easily block the device through the Find My iPhone function and demand an additional payment for the resumption of work. In addition, it is important to activate the smartphone on the spot and through a personal SIM card, and it is also necessary to check the moisture sensors and buttons.
Previously, users of the most expensive Apple smartphones spoke about the appearance of a screen-related marriage. According to users, green and yellow horizontal stripes have been found on phone screens. Such artifacts usually appeared at the moment when the owners unlocked or turned on their devices.
