American mixed martial arts fighter (MMA), member of the Hall of Fame of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Stefan Bonnar has died at the age of 45. This is reported on the website of the promotion.
According to preliminary data, the cause was a heart attack. The head of the UFC, Dana White, called the athlete one of the organization’s most significant fighters, emphasizing that the fans loved him. “He will never be forgotten. We will miss him,” concluded White.
Bonnar began competing in the UFC in 2005 after establishing himself on the reality show The Ultimate Fighter. His fight against compatriot Forrest Griffin on the show was recognized as the best for 2005.
On account of Bonnard 24 fights, in which he won 15 victories, of which three by knockout, and suffered nine defeats. The athlete spent his last fight in the UFC on October 13, 2012, losing to the Brazilian Anderson Silva. He retired from mixed martial arts on November 15, 2014 with the Bellator promotion.
