9to5mac: Samsung ridiculed Apple in ad for not having foldable iPhones
Samsung released an ad that made fun of Apple. This is reported by the publication 9to5mac.
Journalists drew attention to the commercial that appeared on the Chinese social network Weibo. The ad is timed to coincide with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. According to the plot of the video, Samsung smartphones “sit” in the stands of the stadium and, folding and unfolding, launch a “wave”. Next to them are iPhones that are deprived of such an opportunity, which is why a sad emoticon is shown on the device screens.
“It’s time to come together,” reads the slogan of the promotional video. The authors of 9to5mac noted the ingenuity of the marketers of the Korean company, who ridiculed the competitor due to the lack of folding devices in its line. “I admit that this is not a bad advertisement for Samsung, at least compared to some of the other attempts to mock the iPhone,” the journalists noted.
The authors also noticed that, despite Samsung’s attempts, consumers in the world are not as interested in foldable devices – unlike the new Apple smartphones.
In early September, Samsung released a promotional video hinting at the benefits of the foldable design of its flagships. During the video, the authors listed the features that are not available in Apple devices.
