A message appeared on the official Twitter account of The Witcher: Monster Slayer, in which the Spokko studio responsible for the production announced that the adventure with the game was coming to an end. The production will be completely shut down on June 30, 2023, less than two years after the premiere.
We are grateful that we could share our work with such a wonderful and passionate community from around the world. This adventure filled with quests, events and adventures would not be possible without you. Together, we have defeated over 100 million monsters around the world. Thank you for being with us
– we read in the message.
The Witcher: Monster Slayer went under the axe
Production is to be phased out by Spokko and gradually. Only until January 21, 2023 you will be able to download it from the App Store and from Play. On February 1, the game will undergo major changes that will lead to its complete shutdown in June.
More information from the country and the world
: Monster Slayer uses augmented reality technology. The sinister creatures can only be fought by leaving the house. Then, thanks to geolocation, the game puts monsters on our way that pop up from various real places in the city we were in. The principle is the same as in the game of Go.
CD Projekt absorbs Spokko and introduces changes in the business strategy
In a stock exchange communiqué, CD Projekt informed that the decision is related to the update of the company’s business strategy. The company is to focus on its core business. Mobile projects are to be implemented in cooperation with external partners.
We also learn from the information that some of the team and resources of the Spokko studio are to be involved in other CD Projekt Red projects. Spokko, on the other hand, is to be merged with CD Projekt in its entirety into one company in 2023.
