Samsung has patented a service for self-repair of smartphones
Samsung has created a service that will help consumers maintain their gadgets on their own. This is reported by SamMobile.
An application for registration of the trademark Self Repair Assistant was found in the database of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Offered as an app to users, the service will allow consumers to repair their Samsung devices themselves, according to the description.
The document states that the service is intended to provide “consulting and information services related to self-installation and self-repair.” In addition, the Korean company has patented the logo of the future application – a stylized gear and wrench on a blue background. According to journalists, Samsung will not only allow users to repair phones, watches and other gadgets on their own, but will also provide qualified assistance.
Experts suggested that through the application, consumers will be able to find and purchase spare parts necessary for the repair of devices. The launch date for the service has not been disclosed.
Samsung launched a home repair program for its devices at the end of August. At the first stage of the program, owners of Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21 series smartphones, as well as Galaxy Tab S7 Plus tablets, will be able to repair their gadgets.
