Chinese automaker Nio has announced the release of its own smartphone
The Chinese automobile company Nio has announced the release of its own smartphone, which will be optimized to work with electric cars. This is reported by the publication Carnewschina.
The CEO of the well-known Chinese automaker, William Li, has said that the company intends to produce a smartphone. The Nio executive explained that the devices on the market are not capable of giving access to the functions of the Chinese brand’s electric vehicles. According to Li, in this regard, the owner of the car loses access to many options.
In particular, the head of Nio noted that Apple’s smartphones, which are popular on the market, are also not able to solve the problem of car owners. According to William Lee, this is due to the fact that Nio vehicles use mmW technology for communication, which iPhones do not support.
The corporation specified that the first smartphone integrated into the automotive ecosystem will appear in 2023. The cost of the model will be no more than 7,000 yuan, or about 60 thousand rubles. Apparently, the phones will match the look of the Nio series cars. Carnewschina journalists could not find out whether the company will complete its electric cars with phones or whether the consumer will have to purchase the device separately.
Earlier, Elon Musk admitted the possibility of creating his own smartphone Twitter. According to the owner of the microblogging service, this could happen if the Tiwtter app is removed from the iPhone and Android app stores.
