DVB-T2. Approx. 2.5 million viewers without the possibility of receiving channels, e.g. TVN and Polsat. There is a statement from the senders

“On June 27, the process of changing the frequency and broadcasting standard of terrestrial television stations will end – from DVB-T to DVB-T2. As a result of the decision of the Office of Electronic Communications, at the request of the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, private televisions were treated differently from public television, which, unlike to commercial broadcasters does not have to switch to the new DVB-T2 broadcasting standard.

As it was added, “this means that the process of refarming and changing the broadcasting standard was carried out in a significantly different way than the arrangements made in the last 2 years among broadcasters, UKE, KRRiT and the Ministry of Digitization”.

“As a result, about 2.5 million viewers are unable to receive publicly available channels of Polsat, TVN, TV Puls, Kino Polska and many others. We oppose unfair actions that deprive a large part of terrestrial TV viewers of access to their favorite channels and discriminate against all commercial broadcasters, favoring public television.

We will fight for the rights of viewers, as well as ours as the largest broadcasters in Poland, with the effects of these actions and demand adequate compensation and switching TVP channels to the broadcasting standard applicable to other broadcasters as soon as possible.

DVB-T2. Changing the broadcasting standard

Channels with limited access in digital terrestrial television will be: Polsat, TV4, TV6, Super Polsat, Eska TV, Polo TV, Fokus TV, TVN, TVN 7, TTV, TV Puls, Puls 2, Stopklatka.

The new broadcasting standard is introduced gradually from March 28. The last stage will take place on June 27 and will cover the following voivodeships: Mazowieckie, Podlaskie, Lubelskie and WarmiƄsko-Mazurskie.

The broadcasting of MUX-3 programs of Telewizja Polska will not be subject to changes. To postpone the transition to DVB-T2 for the public broadcaster’s channels. The reason is supposed to be the war in Ukraine – TVP channels are on the third multiplex (MUX-3), linked to the Regional Warning System.
