The Verge: Apple Suspends App Store Ads Due to Scandal
Apple has temporarily disabled the display of ads in the App Store. This is reported by The Verge.
According to company spokesman Trevor Kincaid, Apple is temporarily suspending the display of ads related to gambling and certain other categories on product pages in the App Store. Previously, iPhone and iPad users found on the platform inappropriate, from their point of view, advertising banners.
Journalists refer to messages from social networks, according to which inappropriate advertising was found in the App Store. So, on the platform, they found ads for gambling, casinos, betting applications. The scandal, among other things, was caused by the fact that adult ads were noticed on the pages of applications aimed at children.
Apple did not specify how long the pause would last or whether the company would make any changes to its advertising rules. According to journalists, Apple does not ban advertising of gambling, but such bans may occur in many regions.
At the end of September, Satori discovered dozens of smartphone apps that had been launched for ad fraud. The experts stressed that 10 programs were found in the App Store.
