9to5mac: Analyst Ross Young talks about poor iPhone 14 sales

The basic smartphone iPhone 14 is not very popular. This is reported by the publication 9to5mac.

The journalists cited a report by Display Supply Chain Consultants analyst Ross Young, who talked about the failure of the iPhone 14. The specialist confirmed the low sales figures based on data on orders for Apple front panels from suppliers. It turned out that the American company ordered 18 percent fewer panels for the iPhone 14 than it required for the iPhone 13 in 2021.

The author noted that sales of the launch model of the new generation iPhone are unsatisfactory, so Apple has concentrated on the production of other models in the series. So, Yang found out that the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max are in high demand. Panel orders for the iPhone 14 Pro Max are 18 percent higher than component orders for the iPhone 13 Pro Max in the same period last year, it said.

Ross Young recalled that before the end of the year, Apple will release another smartphone for sale. The iPhone 14 Plus, a compromise device with a larger 6.7-inch OLED display, will be available for purchase on October 7th.

At the end of September, authoritative insider Ming-Chi Ko announced that Apple demanded an increase in production of the most expensive devices – the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. The production of the basic iPhone 14 will be reduced.
