9to5mac Edition: The next iPhone SE will be inspired by the 2018 iPhone Xr

Insider Jon Prosser has declassified information about the next-generation SE smartphone. This is reported by the publication 9to5mac.

Journalists of the thematic media referred to Johnn Prosser, who revealed information about the new cheap Apple smartphone as part of the Geared Up podcast. According to the author, the next device in the series will receive a design from the iPhone Xr – a full-size screen with a “monobrow”. Also, the device will lose the Home button with a fingerprint sensor Touch ID. The release date of the gadget is not disclosed.

Thus, Apple will abandon the design of the iPhone 8, which was used in two generations of SE – for smartphones released in 2020 and 2022. These devices have a 4.7-inch IPS screen, a Home button, a single camera, and processors that are current at the time of release. Introduced in 2018, the iPhone Xr received a 6.1-inch IPS screen.

Apple released the new iPhone SE at the presentation on March 8. The device came out with an A15 processor, support for 5G networks, a single camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels. The device starts at $429.

At the end of August, journalists found out that the iPhone SE presented in 2020 had fallen in record price on the Russian market. If at the start of sales the device was available for 40 thousand rubles, then at the end of summer the device can be bought for 25 thousand rubles.
