The James Webb telescope took a historic picture. Biden: It’s hard to imagine

The US National Aeronautics and Space Agency () showed the first image taken by the James Webb Telescope. The presentation was held at the White House with the participation of President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and NASA Chief Bill Nelson.

The image presented by NASA shows stars and galaxies distant in time and space. It has a light from the period shortly after the Big Bang. “These are the oldest documented rays of light in the history of the universe – over 13 billion years ago. It’s hard to imagine” – commented the US President. Joe Biden added that the images taken with the James Webb Telescope prove America is capable of great things.

NASA presents “the most detailed picture of the universe”

NASA CEO Bill Nelson said the image presented at the White House is the deepest and most detailed image of the universe ever taken. “We will be able to answer questions that we are not yet able to formulate. This is what is happening,” said Bill Nelson.

The James Webb telescope was launched into space last December. The cost of the project was $ 10 billion. Today, at 4:30 p.m. Polish time, NASA will publish more photos taken by the space telescope.

The James Webb Space Telescope recorded light for the first time last Wednesday. It was the beginning of a three-month work to prepare the most advanced space observatory in the history of mankind. Researchers have already selected the first star. The telescope was launched on December 25, 2021.
