In the 8th stage the Tour de France will leave its territory to enter Swiss soil. The Jura terrain is not the most appropriate for climbers, but the attacking cyclists will have the opportunity to stand out and advance positions in the competition.
The riders will start the stage in dole and they will travel 186.3 kilometers by lands that cover France and Switzerland. The day will end in Lausanne. Along the way they will come across two 4th category mountain passes and another two 3rd category, finishing the last one at the finish line.
