The Dynamo football club published on its Telegram channel a video with instructions from the team’s striker Fedor Smolov to forward of the National Hockey League (NHL) Washington Capitals club Alexander Ovechkin before a friendly match with Amkal.
The club said that the athletes discussed the scenario of the match and planned Ovechkin’s goal a few hours before the start of the meeting. “Look, San, the corner of the penalty area: you swing and stand on the checked one, just like in your office,” Smolov said.
On June 25, Ovechkin played for Dynamo football in a friendly match against Amkal, which ended with a score of 5: 0. He entered the field in the starting lineup with the captain’s armband and opened the scoring in the 11th minute of the game with a pass from Smolov. After that, the 36-year-old hockey player was replaced.
Ovechkin is a graduate of the Moscow Dynamo hockey club. In 2005, he moved to the Washington Capitals, where he won the Stanley Cup.
