RPL announces salary increase for league referees
Football referees serving matches of the Russian Premier League (RPL) have decided to raise their salaries. This was reported in the League’s Telegram channel.
The clubs at the general meeting supported the proposal of the refereeing department of the Russian Football Union (RFU) to increase the salary of referees from 775.3 million to 937.2 million. This amount is planned to be spent in the next four seasons.
It is assumed that the chief referees in RPL matches next season will receive 174,000 rubles per game instead of 100,000, and the salary of assistants will increase from 47,850 to 87,000. In addition, the costs of monthly and motivational payments, as well as voluntary health insurance, will increase.
On May 10, referee Sergei Karasev spoke about the consequences of the removal of Russian referees from serving international matches. According to him, their income has fallen sharply.
