Former Dynamo striker Vadim Shipachyov was named the most valuable player in the Kontinental Hockey League at the end of the season. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
In the dispute for the “Golden Stick” 35-year-old Shipachev beat SKA forwards Anton Burdasov and Andrey Kuzmenko. In the KHL regular season, the striker played 48 games, scored 24 goals and gave 43 assists. In the playoffs, Shipachev scored ten points (three goals and seven assists).
In May, Shipachev joined Kazan’s Ak Bars. He moved to the club in exchange for monetary compensation.
Dynamo reached the quarterfinals of the Gagarin Cup, in which they lost in the confrontation with the capital’s CSKA. The army team won the tournament.
Shipachev is known for playing for the Vegas Golden Knights, SKA and Severstal. He is the second scorer in the history of the KHL.
