Russian Dota 2 team Virtus.pro terminated the contract with Moskalenko, who drew Z

The Russian Dota 2 esports team Virtus.pro terminated the contract with the player Ivan Pure Moskalenko, who drew the letter Z on the mini-map during the match. This is reported in Twitter club.

The team emphasized that they oppose hate speech in eSports. They drew attention to the fact that Moskalenko’s actions led to a disqualification from the tournament and harmed the team’s relationship with the global esports community. “Any action has consequences, whether intentional or not,” Virtus.pro said.

Earlier on April 30, it became known that Virtus.pro was disqualified from the tournament in the DPC League of Eastern Europe due to Moskalenko’s drawing. During a break in the match against the Mind Games team, the player drew a sign that looked like the letter Z, after which the Russian’s partners immediately began to cover up the drawing.

The player later apologized for the act, stating that the symbol was unconscious. Despite this, the team received a forfeit defeat in the match against Mind Games and in subsequent potential meetings.
