MLS: Leonardo Campana scores and assists in Inter Miami’s victory against Atlanta United

The Ecuadorian Leonardo Campana was once again decisive for his team, InterMiamiby scoring one goal and assisting for another, this Sunday in the 2-1 victory against Atlanta United in MLS.

It was the 28th minute at Lockhart Stadium (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), with the locals at a disadvantage due to the score by Ronaldo Cisneros (13 minutes), when Campana controlled a DeAndre Yedlin cross from the right in a half-turn and finished off a cross to inflate the nets.

At 64 minutes, the tricolor gave in from the left so that Bryce Duke just had to push the ball into the goal and make it 2-1.

Campana played 82 minutes and was replaced by Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, who had missed the last three games due to physical problems.

The former Barcelona Sporting Club striker ranks, along with another group of players with the same record, as the second highest scorer in MLS 2022, with five goals in eight days.

Already on April 19, the Guayaquil native scored the winning goal for Inter Miami against Miami FC (1-0) in the US Open Cup.

Campana also scored a hat-trick on April 9 against New England (3-2).

This Sunday was the third consecutive victory for Inter Miami, which is ranked eighth in the MLS Eastern Conference, after a lousy start to the season with four losses and one draw. (D)
