Swedish mixed martial arts fighter (MMA) Khamzat Chimaev described his emotions during a fight with Brazilian Gilbert Burns. The interview with the athlete was published on the Hustle MMA YouTube channel.
The 29-year-old fighter of Chechen origin admitted that he did not control his emotions and did not follow a specific plan for the fight. “When I knocked him down for the first time, you could say I smelled blood and just wanted to knock him out,” Chimaev recalled. He added that he then forgot about the rounds and minutes.
Chimaev defeated Burns by decision in the main card of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament, which took place on the night of April 10. The Swede extended his winning streak to 11 fights in MMA. Under the auspices of the UFC, he has five victories.
