Tatyana Tarasova, after the cancellation of the Russian stage of the Grand Prix, said that sadists are sitting in the ISU
Honored coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova condemned the decision of the International Skating Union (ISU) to cancel the Russian stage of the Grand Prix in figure skating in 2022. Her words are quoted by Metaratings.
“I didn’t know that there were sadists in the ISU and I didn’t think that everything would come to such an extent,” she said. The coach stressed that she considers the decision wrong.
Earlier on April 25, it became known that the Grand Prix stage in figure skating in Russia in the 2022/2023 season will not take place. All international competitions in Russia and Belarus have been canceled until further notice. The ISU also banned representatives of the two countries from participating in the organization’s congress and from running for elective office.
On March 1, the ISU banned Russians from participating in competitions under its auspices. Due to sanctions, athletes in 2022 could not take part in the adult world championship, as well as in the junior world championship.
