Jon Rahm was declared the winner of Mexico Open this Sunday after making 17 under parone less than Americans Tony Finau, Brandon Wu Y Kurt Kitayamawho have been tied for second place with -16.
Rahm was not too fine on the last day, he committed a bogey on the tenth hole and although he made three birdies (in the sixth, the seventh and the fourteenth), he let one go in the penultimate and needed to close well to win with 267 strokes (64, 66, 68 and 69).
“It was hard for me to get this win; I got complicated on the last hole, but I stayed aggressive, I trusted my game and I ended up winning,” said the man from Barrika.
The Mexican Open took place in the resort of Puerto Vallarta, on the Mexican Pacific, was part of the PGA tour for the first time and took place with a prize pool of 7.3 million dollars.

With this victory, Rahm consolidates his second place in the world golf rankingwhich continues to be led by the American scottie scheffler and with the American Colin Morikawa third.
