This was the second time the athlete received the award, the first being in 2017/18. Salah was chosen this season with 48% of the vote, beating De Bruyne and Declan Rice.
Salah is the current top scorer in the Premier League, with a five-goal lead over Heung-Min Son and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In the women’s category, Australian Sam Kerr, from Chelsea, received 40% of the votes, beating Dutch Vivianne Miedema, from Arsenal, and English Lauren Hemp, from Manchester City.
Salah and Kerr will receive their awards at the “Footballer of the Year” ceremony, which will be held in London on May 5th.
