IDK Euskotren and Lointek Gernika Bizkaia were eliminated of the play-offs for the Endesa Women’s League title after lose second leg of the quarterfinals against Spar Girona and Perfumerías Avenida respectively.
Spar Girona did not give options to IDK Euskotren (67-54) in the return match. The team from San Sebastian arrived with hopes for this duel after lose by just five points in the first leg; however, the Catalan team was far superior. IDK Euskotren held on in the first quarter, although they finished eight points behind (18-10). In the second quarter, Spar Girona increased its advantage and put the victory on track (38-20). After the break, the match script did not change; continued to dominate the Catalan team and reached the last quarter with a 14-point lead (46-32). In the last ten minutes, Spar Girona had the game under control and IDK Euskotren conceded defeat by 67-54.
On the other hand, Lointek Gernika Bizkaia was powerless against Perfumerías Avenida (73-43) very superior. The Gernika-Lumo team reached the second leg with the disadvantage of 15 points that dragged from the first leg, and the Salamanca team asserted its quality to achieve victory and qualify for the semifinals. Perfumerías Avenida sentenced the duel in the first quarter (23-6). Before reaching the break, the local team increased its advantage (48-21). After the restart, Lointek Gernika could not react, Perfumerías Avenida kept the match under control (58-34)and in the last quarter he sealed the victory with a final result of 73-43.
Perfumerías Avenida will face Cadí La Seu in the semifinals, while Spar Girona will face Valencia.
