The Argentine horse Che Corredor beat his most dangerous rival, El Zurdo, by just one nose in the equestrian classic held on Sunday at the Miguel Salem Dibo racecourse.
Che Corredor recovered in the final meters of the race, when he seemed to lose to El Zurdo. But with brio the River Plate specimen defeated the leader in the 1,400-meter sentence line to set the time of 1 minute, 25 seconds and 27 hundredths in that distance.
In the first sections it was El Zurdo who led the way in a tight herd with Kantor, Che Corredor and further back Inbox and Sing It First at the end of the peloton. Halfway through Kantor came to the fore but his strength ran out in the final corner, where a relentless fight began between Che Corredor and El Zurdo. He dominated from the outside but already in the final stretch, with great heart, Che Corredor charged again to surprise El Zurdo and win by a snout in a harrowing finale seen standing up by the public.
With this exciting triumph continues the good streak of the stud Tres Patines, who won another classic, this time with Che Corredor who achieved his fifth victory at the Samborondón racecourse.
