Ethan Hayter (Ineos Grenadiers) is the first leader of the 2022 Tour de Romandie after winning the 5.1 kilometer prologue which was held this Tuesday, April 26, in the Swiss city of Lausanne.
The 23-year-old British cyclist 4 seconds ahead of Rohan Dennis (Jumbo Visma)which was second. Felix Grobschartner (BORA hansgrohe) finished third, 10 seconds. Fourth place went to defending champion Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers) who also crossed the finish line 10 seconds behind the winner.
Rigoberto Uran, Vlasov and Sergio Higuitafavorites to win the final victory, lost around 20 seconds to Hayter. Ion Izagirre (Cofidis) needed 25 seconds more than the winner of the prologue to complete the route.
