Former Real Madrid footballer Freddie Rincon dies at 55 from injuries sustained in car crash

Former Real Madrid and Colombia midfielder Freddy Rincon has died at the age of 55. It is reported by ESPN.

The cause of death was injuries that Rincón received in an accident on April 11, when his car collided with a bus. After the accident, the athlete was in intensive care in critical condition.

Rincon is a two-time America’s Cup bronze medalist with the Colombian national team. For the national team, he played more than 80 matches and scored 17 goals. Also, the footballer became the champion of Brazil three times.

Rincon played with Real Madrid from 1995 to 1996. Previously, he defended the colors of the Italian Napoli.

On January 11, former Turkish Galatasaray footballer Ahmet Çalik died at the age of 27. The athlete died as a result of an accident in Ankara. Chalyk lost control, causing the car to overturn.
