What arouses admiration in the Raków team are only three goals lost in the matches of the spring round so far. – We spent a lot of time on it during the training camp and you can see that it worked. We are more and more harmonious. Bogdan Racovitan helped us at the beginning of the round, and winter transfers contributed a bit. Recently, we have unfortunately patched the holes again. – There are such plans, although it is difficult to predict what will happen in three years. It’s a long time, and I might as well not have this job in a while. Now my contract is valid until the end of June 2023, but in this profession you can never be sure. If this work continues, I can finish this chapter in my life in three years, replied the 47-year-old.
– This energy is there all the time, you can see it even in my clashes with the judges (laughs). As for the future, this is how I agreed with my loved ones. Maybe after returning to Warsaw I will continue to deal with football, or maybe something completely different? It is difficult to answer this question today. I think football will still be my great passion, but sometimes you can’t have everything in life – he added.
The journalist asked the coach about the moment when he was named among the favorites for the selector. That’s after Paulo Sousa left in December for the Brazilian Flamengo. he does not hide that at one point he was thinking about replacing the Portuguese.
– Of course, when I read such information, it crossed my mind, but I did not get distracted by it at all. There was never such an option, the offer did not officially appear, there were no particulars – he confessed. Later, he also referred to the commotion that had developed around him when rumors emerged that he would join Legia Warszawa. Sousa’s demeanor and what leaked from him allowed him to breathe a little.
– Yes, because it got tedious. There have been many reports that have been untrue. It led to confusion in the club, it was difficult to disconnect from it all. As for Legia itself – it did not work out and sometimes it does in life. Apparently it was supposed to be this way. I am glad that I stayed here, and resolving this situation certainly helped the club – emphasized the coach.
