Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said that he was offered to leave the country by foreign partners and intelligence agencies within Ukraine. He made the statement in an interview with the Czech TV channel ČT24.
According to Zelensky, on February 24 “every 10 minutes” he received calls advising him to leave Ukraine immediately. “Everyone told me that I should leave immediately. Everything. And the secret services within our state, and our partners. They received signals from other countries and recommended that I leave Ukraine within three days,” Zelensky explained.
He also spoke about his health. According to him, he is healthy, makes decisions “quite calmly”, and also sleeps well. “I sleep well. Now I focus more on work, and what I do and say requires more concentration. I want to provide people with only positive information – not just smile at them, but make the message look positive,” Zelensky added, noting that “it’s hard to relax.”
Recall that on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine. In response to this decision, sanctions began to be imposed on Russia. The Russian and Ukrainian delegations held a series of talks on the situation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov expressed the hope that the Russian special operation in Ukraine will end with the signing of comprehensive documents. They will touch upon the issues of the neutral status of Ukraine, security and the law on the Russian language.
We add that even before the special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the United States called on Zelensky to move to Lviv. The British authorities offered him and his family asylum in the country, but he refused.
