Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva won the second stage of the Vancouver Grand Prix series – Skate Canada, setting two world records at once in the free skating program and in total points in women’s singles skating. RIA Novosti writes about it.
15-year-old student Eteri Tutberidze received 180.89 points for the free program, gaining a total of 265.08 points. Thus, she broke her own world records (174.31 and 249.24), set on October 10 at the Finlandia Trophy tournament in Espoo, Finland.
The second and third places were taken by the Russians Elizaveta Tuktamysheva and Alena Kostornaya. They scored 232.88 and 214.54 points for two programs, respectively.
At the first stage of the Skate America Grand Prix in Las Vegas, Russian Alexandra Trusova won in women’s single skating, the second was Daria Usacheva. The next stage will take place on November 5-7 in Turin, Italy.
Earlier it became known that Valieva announced her desire to speak at the 2022 Olympics. At the same time, the athlete emphasized that she does not think about it, but tries to live in the moment. Valieva added that she will try to qualify for the Winter Olympics.
