The 17-year-old, whose mother is Polish and his father is Nigerian, who plays for juniors on a daily basis, was called up to the Polish national team under the age of 18. Marcin Brosz, who recently took over the U-18 team, appointed him to the team.
The United player has been in the circle of interest for quite some time. The competitor was monitored by Maciej Chorążyk. The head of foreign scouting of the Polish Football Association, in an interview with “WP Sportowe Fakt”, talked about the details of the young player’s appointment. As he admitted, the footballer could not play in the national team earlier due to procedural issues. First, he did not have the necessary documents, but later the coronavirus pandemic prevented him.
– He waited a long time for this debut, because already in that year it was going to be there, but due to the pandemic everything was delayed and we did not even manage to check it, and now it is already with us. He has always wanted it – says Chorążyk in an interview with the portal “WP Sportowe Fakty”. As he says, the footballer has “Polish ID and passport in hand”.
– He speaks Polish poorly, but understands a lot. In this case, we watched him all the time and were close to him. I don’t see an option for him to want to change to a different representation. He wants to play for us. This is a multifunctional player who can play in the sixth and eighth – emphasized the head of foreign scouting PZPN.
The Polish U-18 team will play two matches in March. He will face Switzerland twice. The first match is scheduled for March 23, and the “white-and-red” rematch will be played two later. Both clashes will take place at the stadium in Baden, Switzerland.
