Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Norwegian Olympic Committee Oyvind Vatterdal announced his resignation from his post due to the recommendation of the International Olympic Committee to remove the Russians from international tournaments. He explained the resignation by saying that he does not want to be associated with this decision, and stressed that sanctions against Russia are contrary to his values ​​\u200b\u200band the idea that sports should not be associated with politics. “I am doing this in my conscience in order to stand up for my Russian colleagues and in the future be able to look them in the eye,” Vatterdal summed up.
