UFC fighter Paddy Pimblett considered his victory brighter than any Nurmagomedov fight
British mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Paddy Pimblett devalued the performances of Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov, calling himself a more spectacular athlete. His words are quoted by the Daily Star.
After defeating Rodrigo Vargas at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament in London, the Briton claimed that his performance was brighter than any of Nurmagomedov’s 29 victorious fights. Pimblett fought his second fight as part of the promotion.
The Briton has been compared to Conor McGregor. Like the Irishman, he won a number of victories under the auspices of the Cage Warriors promotion, after which he signed a contract with the UFC. Pimblett is called the Second MacGregor.
Earlier on March 20, the head of the UFC, Dana White, noted that the 27-year-old native of Liverpool is very popular. He acknowledged that the hype around Pimblett was justified and noted his impressive performance against Vargas.
Nurmagomedov is a former UFC lightweight champion. He has 29 wins in 29 fights.
