It was the 86th minute of the game when Venezia’s coach Paolo Zanetti went berserk. His team was losing to Sampdoria 0: 2, and Thomas Henry was sent from the field for the second yellow card. Zanetti clearly showed his player what he thought about his behavior.

The Venezia coach caught up with Henry, but not to cheer him up. On the contrary. Zanetti grabbed his footballer by the shirt and began tugging and pushing at him while yelling at him. Henry was saved from the furious trainer by the team leader.

Strange behavior of the Venezia coach

– The fans booed us and had every right to do so. This is a fair assessment. People come to the stands with enthusiasm, ready to help, and we constantly disappoint them. At this level, you cannot lose goals after such simple mistakes, because then it is extremely difficult to make up for the losses. We are in a special situation because we can destroy everything we are working on. Of course, I am guilty of it. For now, we are showing that we are not a team that deserves to play in Serie A, said Zanetti after the game.

The Venezia coach was disappointed as his team lost 2-0. Both goals for Sampdoria were scored by Francesco Caputo, and the second goal was particularly easy for him. It was then that Venezia’s goalkeeper Niki Maenpaa began to play with the ball in his own penalty area, and after his loss, Caputo scored an empty goal.

For Venezia, this is the fourth league loss in a row. The last time Zanetti’s team won on February 12, when they defeated Torino away (2: 1). This is the only victory for Venezia in the last 16 league matches. No wonder Zanetti’s team is ranked 18th in the table. Venezia has 22 points and loses three points to a safe position. The advantage of Zanetti’s team is that they played one game less than Cagliari in front of them.

Sampdoria, on the other hand, broke up after three defeats in a row. Marco Giampaolo’s team is 29 points and is 15th in the table. The Polish representative – Bartosz BereszyƱski played 90 minutes in the match against Venezia.
