Three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov took sixth place in the 15 km pursuit in the classic style at the Russian Olympians tournament. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
Competitions were held on Sunday, March 20, in Kirovo-Chepetsk (Kirov region). Ilya Proshkin won the race in 38 minutes and 33.6 seconds. Saveliy Korostelev was second, 36.2 seconds back. The top three was closed by Ilya Semikov, who lost 45.4 seconds.
Bolshunov went to the distance with a three-minute delay, as he did not participate in the race with a separate start, as a result of which the list of participants in the pursuit was formed. He lost two minutes and nine seconds to the winner Proshkin.
On March 1, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended Russian athletes from competitions held in the country. Later, the International Ski Federation (FIS) extended the ban for Russians to all competitions under the auspices of the organization.
