Coutinho’s performance is off, Saka scores and Arsenal beats Aston Villa in English

Arsenal visited Aston Villa on Saturday morning and won 1-0 in the Premier League clash. With the result, the team increased the advantage over Manchester United in fourth position, with 54 points, having still one game less. Aston Villa remains in ninth place.

Arsenal started the match better and had their first opportunity after just three minutes. The Englishman Saka advanced on the right and rolled to Odegaard, who served Smith Rowe. The midfielder received a free kick at the entrance of the area, but finished over.

The team continued creating opportunities and managed to reach the goal in the 30th minute. After a cross in the area, the ball fell to Saka, who amended a shot in the left corner, taking it from goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.

In the second stage, the game followed the same path. Arsenal managed to build chances, from their defensive field, and took danger to the opposing goal.

With the adversity on the scoreboard, Aston Villa had to expose themselves and offered some counterattacks to Arsenal, but Mikel Arteta’s team didn’t know how to take advantage of the chances.

At 23 minutes, striker Ollie Watkins received on the right, pedaled over the marker and risked the shot. The player still had a deflection on the defender, but saw the ball hit the goalkeeper Leno’s crossbar. The Brazilian, Phillipe Coutinho, in turn, had a lackluster performance and took little part in the game.

Despite suffering pressure in the final stretch of the match, Arsenal managed to keep the result and secured their 17th triumph in the tournament.

The London club returns to the field on April 4, after the FIFA date, in a duel against Crystal Palace. Aston Villa face Wolverhampton in their next match.
