Ewa Swoboda fourth in the 60-meter race. Thus, there is no second medal for Poland in Belgrade. Several dozen minutes earlier, silver was won by Adrianna Su³ek, who competed in the pentathlon.
Ewa Swoboda without a medal. So little was missing
It has been known for several weeks that Swoboda is currently in a great shape. Time and time again it broke Polish records. Before the World Cup itself, it set it at 6.99. In Belgrade, it has shown from the very beginning that it is still strong.
7.10 – this was the result she achieved in the morning qualifying rounds. The Polish woman was promoted to the semi-finals in the third time, but the best form was to be presented in the evening, when the medal competition was decided.
And the first information confirmed it. In the semi-finals, the Pole achieved the time on 7.03, confidently won her race and was promoted to the final. Our player was ahead of the American Marybeth Sant-Price by 0.02 seconds. Swoboda entered the final with the best time.
The 24-year-old did not start well in the final. He seemed to be approaching the first position with every moment. It was, however, an illusion. Ultimately, the Mujinga Kambundji won the gold. The Swiss covered 60 meters in 6.96 meters. This is the best result in the world this season. Mikah Brisco from the United States won the silver with a time of 6.99.
The Polish woman fought for bronze until the very end, but not much was left. Swodoba scored the time of 7.04. Same as Marybath Sant-Price. Therefore, a more accurate measurement was needed. Unfortunately, it turned out that the American was only two thousandths of a second faster.
