Defined the clubs that will participate in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana

EcuadorBolivian, ChileColombia, ParaguayPeru, Uruguay and Venezuela already know the clubs that will represent them in the group stage of the South American Cupinstance that will start on April 5 with 32 formations.

The twenty-first edition of the tournament included the first phase, which ended this Thursday with seven games, with teams from the same country facing each other, except those from Argentina and Brazil.

The sixteen winners advanced to the group stage and at least two teams from each federation will be in action along with the six clubs from Argentina and six teams from Brazil, as well as the four eliminated in the third phase of the Copa Libertadores.

The teams that will compete in the group stage for Argentina will be banfieldDefense and Justice, IndependentLanus, racing club and Union. On the Brazilian side they will be Atletico GoianenseSaints, CearáInternational, Sao Paulo and Cuiaba.

Those classified for the group round are the Bolivians Oil East and Jorge Wilstermann; for Chile, Union La Calera and Antofagasta; for Columbia, Independent Medellin and Junior; for Ecuador, League of Quito and October 9; for Paraguay, General Caballero and Guaireña; for Peru, Melgar and Ayacucho; for Uruguay, River Plate and wanderers; and for Venezuela, Metropolitanos and La Guaira.

Those eliminated from the Libertadores

The teams that received a ‘consolation’ awardsince they were eliminated from the third instance of the Copa Libertadores and now they will compete in the South American, they are the Fluminense brazilian, the Everton Chilean and Ecuadorians Barcelona SC and Catholic University.

The draw

The draw for the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana will be held on March 25 at the Conmebol headquarters in Luque (Paraguay), together with the same instance of the Copa Libertadores. (D)
