Ride Like a Pro is the proposal with which the tradition of Tour of Italy arrives in the country this 2022with sports, gastronomic and cultural activities which will have Quito as its epicenter, in the month of July.
With an estimated 4,000 cyclists in action, the Giro d’Italia Ride Like a Pro seeks to bring Ecuadorian fans closer to the interiors of the traditional Corsa Rosa, competition that this year will dispute its 105th edition on Italian roads, in May.
The race is official and it will be “the setting for one of the international sporting events characterized by replicating the passion and experience of living cycling in a unique way”, detailed the organizationduring an event held on Wednesday in Plaza San Francisco, one of the most iconic places in the historic center of Quito.
“It will also be the occasion to take to Ecuador a sample of the famous Made in Italy, an unrepeatable experience for all who want to enjoy and learn about this set of excellences in gastronomy, fashion, designwhich make the Italian style be known and appreciated throughout the world”, pointed out the organizing company.
The event will take place between July 29 and 31, with activities and races in distances of 40, 80 and 150 kilometers for athletes in different categories, children will also have the opportunity to enjoy the event with tests for ages between 2 and 14 years. “Ecuadorians are great hosts and we are sure that we can consolidate ourselves as a world sports destination”, said Saúl Pacurucu, spokesman for the Gruppo Squali, owner of the license of the Giro d’Italia Ride Like a Pro brand in Ecuador.
