Russian and Belarusian athletes were not allowed to participate in the Diamond League-2022
Russian and Belarusian athletes will not be allowed to participate in the Diamond League in 2022. This was reported on the website of the organization.
The decision was made by the Diamond League General Assembly. The timing of the removal of Russians and Belarusians is not specified.
On March 1, World Athletics imposed sanctions against Russian and Belarusian athletes, removing them from participation in international competitions. Thus, domestic athletes will not be able to compete at the 2022 World Championships in the USA in July, the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade and the World Race Walking Championships.
The Diamond League is an annual series of commercial athletics competitions taking place around the world. This year’s competition is due to start in Doha on May 13th and end on September 8th in Zurich.
