With a goal from Pedri, Barcelona turn over Galatasaray and advance in the Europa League

This Thursday, Galatasaray and Barcelona faced each other for the return game of the round of 16 of Europa League. In Turkey, the team led by Xavi Hernández won 2-1, with a goal by Pedri and one by Aubameyang.

Now, the Catalonia team waits for the draw to know who will face in the quarterfinals. The event will be this Friday, from 08:00 (Brasília time).

Barcelona return to the field next Sunday, at 17:00 (Brasília time), for the derby against Real Madridfur Spanish Championship. Galatasaray, in turn, face Gaziantep for the Turkish national tournament.

The game – In the first half, the first dangerous move came from the home team, at six minutes. Bafetimbi Gomis reached a cross in the area, finished, but the kick ended up being cut by the defense.

At 10, Frenkie De Jong missed a big chance for Barcelona. The Dutch midfielder received a free kick, facing the goal, but hit it wide.

Until, at 28, Galatasaray opened the scoring. The Brazilian defender Marcão went up and scored with a header after a corner kick.

Barcelona didn’t take long to react. At 37, Pedri received from Ferrán Torres, cleared two markers in the area and scored a great goal.

In the second half, just four minutes into the match, Barcelona came to a head. Frenkie De Jong nodded for Aubameyang to push into the back of the net.

The match continued with few chances for both sides. The Turks managed some good speed arrivals, but they couldn’t finish on goal.
