UFC chief White says he received death threats over fight against piracy
The head of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, spoke about the threats of physical violence due to the fight against piracy. His words are quoted by Bloody Elbow.
The UFC President recalled an incident that occurred in Memphis, where he performed in the Lookin’ For Fight program. “There was a guy there whose bar was affected by the piracy situation. Then they began to threaten me, saying that if I went out into the street, they would shoot me there, ”White said.
Since 2012, the UFC has been fighting against piracy of broadcasts. In 2014, the promotion managed to detect the violator and sue him for 12 thousand dollars. According to White, the organization continues to work in this direction, despite the fact that it has consequences.
Earlier, White announced the position of the promotion on the participation of Russian fighters in tournaments. The head of the UFC stressed that the organization aims to hold all scheduled fights with the participation of Russians.
