Kutxabank Araski wins the Basque derby against Lointek Gernika (85-62)

Kutxabank Araski beat Lointek Gernika Bizkaia (85-62) this wednesday the basque derby corresponding to the 25th day of the Endesa Women’s League. The Vitoria-Gasteiz team was superior from start to finish.

After the first few minutes even (2-2 and 5-5), Lointek Gernika achieved a six-point lead (7-13), but the local team did not give up, shortened distances, and took the lead on the scoreboard (14 -13) with four minutes remaining in the first quarter. Later, the Alava team obtained a three-point lead (18-15), but the visitors were better in the last minute and a half, and finished the first ten minutes two points ahead (18-20).

Lointek Gernika Bizkaia began in command in the second quarter (22-27), but Kutxabank Araski reacted quickly (28-27). From that moment on, the local team imposed its law on the field and reached the break with a favorable score of 44-35.

When the match resumed, Kutxabank Araski broke up the match. Little by little he increased his advantage, and gave the Biscayan team no options. In this way, the locals reached the last quarter with a 21-point advantage. (70-49).
