Hero of Benfica’s classification against Ajax, for the round of 16 of the Champions League, Uruguayan Darwin Nuñez aroused the interest of a European giant.
According to information from the Sport newspaper, Barcelona wants to sign the author of the goal that gave the Portuguese a spot in this Tuesday’s match.
An obstacle to the negotiation would be the amount requested by Benfica. The Portuguese club want 80 million euros for the striker, while Barca have stipulated a limit of 50 million to spend on a reinforcement.
At just 22 years old, Darwin arrived in Portuguese football in 2020, after good spells in Almería and Peñarol, where he was revealed. With the Benfica shirt, he has played 77 matches and scored 40 goals, having scored 26 this season.
