Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about sanctions against Russian athletes
Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the removal of Russian athletes from participation in international competitions. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“This is such a sport outside of politics,” the head of state said, commenting on the sanctions against athletes. At the end of February, many international sports organizations began to remove Russians from tournaments.
In some disciplines, such as football, hockey, cross-country skiing and biathlon, athletes are completely excluded from competition. In motorsport, cycling and tennis, the Russians can continue playing in a neutral status.
March 13 MEP from the party “Alternative for Germany” Kristin Anderson stood up for Russian athletes. She called sanctions against athletes from Russia racism.
