Goretzka is doubtful at Bayern for duel with Union Berlin; Nagelsmann follows out

After being thrashed in the German Cup by Borussia Monchengladbach, O Bayern Munchen turns his attention to the Bundesliga. This Saturday, the Bavarians face Union Berlin, for the 10th round. For this confrontation, Bayern will not be able to count on their coach Julian Nagelsmann, diagnosed with covid-19.

The coach had already been embezzled in the club’s last three commitments. At a press conference, the German stated that he should return to the edge of the lawn next Tuesday, when the Munich team receives the Benfica, for the Champions League.

Midfielder Leon Goretzka is still in doubt for the match. The athlete was injured in the game against Monchengladbach and had to be replaced.

“He was kicked below the ankle. I called him yesterday and he’s much better. So I assume he can play along. But we see that after training,” said Nagelsmann.

Goalkeeper Sven Ulreich and forward Choupo-Moting, both injured, are certain embezzlements in the Bavarian team.

Despite being wide favourites, Bayern will face an opponent who is having a good campaign in the tournament. The club from the German capital is fighting at the top of the table and has its eye on a place for next season’s European competitions.

“Union are a club that play incredibly consistent and stable – they are in exceptionally good shape. They will give us great challenges and we have to enter this game with maximum intensity”, said the Bayern coach.
