Court of Arbitration for Sport rejects Russian appeal over UEFA sanctions

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected this Tuesday the request of the Russian Football Federation (FUR) of provisionally suspend the sanctions taken by UEFA against Russian clubs and teams due to the invasion of Ukraine.

So, the Russian teams remain excluded from European competitions until a final decision is made on the FUR appeal, while the TAS promised a decision “by the end of the week” on the eventual suspension of the sanctions taken by FIFA.

Specifically, the Spartak Moscow remains excluded from the Europa League, and the women’s team set aside for Eurocopa-2022 in England, except final decision before the appointment.
