Manchester City draw goalless with Crystal Palace, but remain at the top of the English

This Monday, Crystal Palace and Manchester City ended the 29th round of the English Premier League. The duel that took place at Selhurts Park ended in a 0-0 draw. With this result, City remains in the lead of the competition with 70 points, four more than the vice-leader Liverpool. Palece is 11th with 34.

Pep Guardiola’s team returns to the field next Sunday to face Southampton in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, at 12:00 (from Brasilia, away from home. On the same day, Crystal Palace faces Everton, for the same reason, at 9:30 am.

Manchester City started dominating the match, and in the 14th minute De Bruyne arrived well, but stopped in Guaita’s defense. Crystal Palace tried to take danger, taking advantage of a mistake in City’s attack, but could not complete the move. Pressing, Guardiola’s team came close to opening the scoring once again with Belgian midfielder De Bryune, but ended up stopping in the difficult defense of the opposing goalkeeper. Cancelo tried from outside the area, but stamped Guaita’s right post.

At 11 of the second half, Grealish found De Bruyne well positioned in the area, and the Belgian hit a cross, sending another post. On the rebound, Mahrez tried, but Guaita spread, avoiding the goal. Later, Grealish found Bernando in the area, but the Portuguese didn’t reach the ball in one piece and wasted the chance to open the scoring.

In the final minutes, City scared Guaita with Laporta, who tried with a header. On the Palace side, Gallagher took advantage of an opponent’s mistake and kicked over Ederson’s goal.
