In the first half, Real Madrid was more dominant, even playing away from home. Thus, the visitors spent more time with the ball in the attacking field, creating chances. The home team, however, also arrived well, but the first stage ended with zero score.

The first goal came in the second half, at 10 minutes. Valverde stole the ball already in the attacking field and found Benzema. The Frenchman served Vinícius Júnior, who hit the back of the net and started the victory.

At the end of the match, in the 36th minute of the second half, Marcelo hit a beautiful cross in the head of Benzema, who moved the goalkeeper and ended the madridista victory.
